View approved original text

This medication is used to reduce elevated triglyceride levels in patients with endogenous hypertriglyceridemia. It can be administered alone for hypertriglyceridemia (Type IV) and can enhance treatment effects when combined with statins in cases of combined hypercholesterolemia and hypertriglyceridemia (Type IIb). It especially aids in improving blood lipid levels in patients with uncontrolled triglyceride levels when used alongside statins. This medication is effective as an adjunct to diet in managing blood lipid levels.

Precautions

This medication should not be used in patients with allergic reactions to its components or in children under 18 years of age. Care should be taken when administering to patients at high risk of bleeding due to severe trauma or surgery, patients with poor liver function, and patients allergic to fish. This medication may increase the risk of bleeding if taken with certain anticoagulants, therefore patients receiving anticoagulation therapy should consult with healthcare professionals and carefully monitor their coagulation status. During pregnancy, the effects on the fetus are not well understood, so it should be used cautiously when necessary, and nursing women should also exercise caution when taking it. Patients aged 65 and over may use this medication, but careful observation of their condition is necessary when administering. In the case of overdose, there is no specific antidote, so treatment should be symptomatic, and appropriate support should be obtained from medical facilities if necessary.
