Precautions

This medication may cause severe allergic reactions, so if skin rash, difficulty breathing, or swelling of the face or lips occurs after use, discontinue immediately and consult a doctor. This medication can cause serious inflammation of the pancreas called pancreatitis, so if abdominal pain, vomiting, or loss of appetite appears during use, inform healthcare professionals immediately. Patients with type 1 diabetes or diabetic ketoacidosis should not take this medication. Patients with reduced kidney function should have their dosage adjusted, so renal function tests should be performed before use, and follow the doctor's instructions. When taken with insulin or sulfonylureas, care should be taken to monitor blood sugar levels closely due to the risk of low blood sugar, and dosage adjustments of other medications may be necessary. During treatment with this medication, side effects such as headache, upper respiratory tract infections, nasopharyngitis, diarrhea, nausea, may occur, and if symptoms are severe, consult a doctor. Severe joint pain or skin blistering similar to bullous pemphigoid may occur, so if such symptoms occur, inform a doctor immediately. Pregnant or breastfeeding women should avoid taking this medication, and safety and efficacy in pediatric patients under 18 years of age have not been established. Older adults are encouraged to regularly monitor kidney function before and during treatment due to the potential decline in kidney function. In case of overdose, seek medical attention immediately for appropriate treatment; some medication can be removed via blood dialysis. There are few interactions with other medications, but consult a doctor or pharmacist when used in combination with certain medications.
