Efficacy & effects

Improvement in blood sugar control in type 2 diabetes

  • Difficulty in blood sugar control in patients with type 2 diabetes
View approved original text

This medication is used to assist in blood sugar control for patients with type 2 diabetes, in conjunction with diet and exercise therapy. It can be administered alone, and in cases where blood sugar control is challenging with monotherapy at the initial treatment stage, it may be used in combination with metformin. Additionally, when sufficient blood sugar control is not achieved with monotherapy using sulfonylureas, metformin, thiazolidinediones, or insulin, this medication can be used in combination therapy. If blood sugar control remains difficult with combination therapy, adding sitagliptin may increase treatment efficacy. This medication helps in diabetes management through effective blood sugar control.
