View approved original text

This medication is used to help control blood sugar levels in patients with type 2 diabetes. It can be taken alone alongside dietary and exercise therapy and is suitable for patients who have not previously used diabetes medications. If blood sugar control is difficult with monotherapy, it can be administered in combination with metformin. Additionally, it should also be taken with sulfonylurea, metformin, thiazolidinediones, or insulin when control is insufficient with these monotherapies. It can be additionally used in patients who struggle with blood sugar control even with combination therapy.
