Treatment of erectile dysfunction
This medication is used to treat erectile dysfunction and is effective when there is sexual stimulation. It is not indicated for use in women. This medication helps improve erectile function in men.
Use in adult men The recommended dose of this medicine is 10mg, taken with or without food before anticipated sexual activity. For patients in whom tadalafil 10mg does not produce a sufficient effect, 20 mg may be tried. This medicine may be taken at least 30 minutes before sexual activity. The maximum recommended dosing frequency is once daily. Immediately after removing this medicine from its individual package, place it on the tongue and allow it to dissolve; take it without water. Long-term safety after extended daily dosing has not been established, and because the effect of this medicine usually lasts for more than one day, continuous daily administration of this medicine is strongly discouraged. [See sections 1. Warnings and 11.1) Pharmacodynamic properties] Use in elderly men No dosage adjustments are required in elderly patients. Use in men with renal impairment No dose adjustment is required in patients with mild to moderate renal impairment. The maximum recommended dose in patients with severe renal impairment is 10mg. [See section 11.2) Pharmacokinetic properties]. Use in men with hepatic impairment The recommended dose is 10mg, taken with or without food before anticipated sexual activity. Since clinical data on the safety of this medicine in patients with severe hepatic impairment (Child-Pugh Class C) are limited, the physician should carefully assess the individual benefit/risk when prescribing it. There are no data on administration of doses higher than 10mg to patients with hepatic impairment. [See sections 3. Use with caution in the following patients and 11.2) Pharmacokinetic properties]. Use in men with diabetes No dose adjustment is required in patients with diabetes.
Do not use in persons under 18 years of age.
This medication is used for the treatment of erectile dysfunction, and a doctor's diagnosis and physical examination must be performed before use. Sexual activity may put a strain on the heart, so patients with cardiovascular diseases should exercise particular caution. If an erection lasts longer than 4 hours, immediate medical assistance should be sought, as leaving it untreated could lead to penile tissue damage and permanent erectile dysfunction. This medication should not be taken with nitrate drugs as it can severely lower blood pressure, making concurrent use absolutely contraindicated. Patients with significant cardiovascular disease or those who have recently experienced a heart attack or stroke should not take this medication. Patients with hereditary retinal diseases or allergies to any components of this medication should also avoid its use. Taking this medication with other erectile dysfunction treatments is not recommended as its safety and efficacy have not been verified. Caution is especially advised for patients with penile deformities or certain blood disorders when using this medication. Patients with severely impaired renal or hepatic function should consult a doctor before taking this medication. Caution is needed as some antihypertensive medications may result in symptoms of hypotension. This medication may cause side effects such as headache, dyspepsia, back pain, myalgia, flushing, and others, which are usually mild and temporary. Rarely, cardiac-related adverse reactions and vision or hearing disturbances have been reported; any unusual symptoms should be communicated to a doctor immediately. If sudden vision loss or hearing decrease occurs during use, immediately discontinue use and seek medical attention. This medication is not for use in women, children, or infants. When taken with alcohol, it may cause hypotension or dizziness, so caution is required. In case of overdose, seek medical attention immediately as blood dialysis is not effective in removing this medication.
