This medication is used for patients who need to take two components, Olmesartan Medoxomil and Rosuvastatin together. Olmesartan Medoxomil primarily helps in treating essential hypertension. Rosuvastatin is used to improve hypercholesterolemia and mixed dyslipidemia that are not controlled by diet and exercise. Additionally, it has the effect of reducing the risk of cardiovascular disease and slowing the progression of atherosclerosis. This medication helps reduce the risks associated with stroke, myocardial infarction, and vascular reformation. Therefore, it is used to improve overall cardiovascular health through blood pressure control and lipid management.

Precautions

This medication can cause serious harm to the fetus and newborn if taken during pregnancy, especially in the second and third trimesters; therefore, it should be discontinued immediately upon confirmation of pregnancy. It should not be used in women who are allergic to any ingredients, pregnant or nursing, or in patients with severely compromised renal function. Administration should also be avoided in patients with severely impaired renal or liver function, biliary obstruction, muscle diseases, or when used in combination with certain medications. Careful monitoring is required for patients with significantly low blood pressure or reduced blood volume due to the risk of hypotension. This medication may increase serum potassium levels, posing a risk of hyperkalemia, particularly in patients with kidney disease or heart failure, requiring regular potassium level monitoring. Muscle pain, muscle weakness, and rarely severe muscle damage (rhabdomyolysis) may occur, and if any muscle-related symptoms appear, medical assistance must be sought immediately. Liver function abnormalities may occur, so regular liver function tests are recommended before and during treatment. Due to potential side effects such as dizziness, caution is advised while driving or operating dangerous machinery. The risk of side effects may increase when used in combination with certain medications, so if any other medications are being taken, the healthcare provider must be informed. The safety and efficacy of this drug in children and adolescents under 18 years have not been established, so its use is not recommended. In elderly patients, dosage adjustments and careful monitoring are advised due to potential increased drug concentration. In case of overdose, symptoms such as hypotension and palpitations may occur, and appropriate treatment should be received if necessary. This medication should be stored out of the reach of children and should not be transferred to another container.
