This medication is used for patients who need to take both olmesartan medoxomil and rosuvastatin. Olmesartan medoxomil primarily helps to control blood pressure in patients with essential hypertension. Rosuvastatin is used as an adjunct for various types of hyperlipidemia, especially when dietary measures and exercise alone are not sufficient to control primary hypercholesterolemia and mixed hyperlipidemia. It is also used as an adjunct to dietary measures in patients with homozygous familial hypercholesterolemia and primary dysbetalipoproteinemia, lowering total cholesterol and LDL cholesterol to delay the progression of atherosclerosis. Additionally, it is effective in reducing the risk of cardiovascular disease, stroke, myocardial infarction, and complications after vascular interventions in adult patients with certain risk factors. Thus, this medication is used to manage both hypertension and hyperlipidemia and reduce cardiovascular risks.
