Treatment of erectile dysfunction
This medication is used for the treatment of erectile dysfunction and requires sexual stimulation to be effective. It is also only for use by men and is not suitable for women. It helps improve the symptoms of those experiencing difficulties with erectile dysfunction.
Use in adult men The recommended dose of this medicine is 10mg, taken with or without food before anticipated sexual activity. For patients in whom tadalafil 10mg does not provide a sufficient effect, 20 mg may be tried. This medicine may be administered at least 30 minutes before sexual activity. The maximum recommended dosing frequency is once daily. Immediately after removing this medicine from its individual package, place it on the tongue and allow it to dissolve; take it without water. Long-term safety following extended daily dosing has not been established, and the effect of this medicine usually lasts for more than one day; therefore, continuous daily administration of this medicine is strongly discouraged. [See sections 1. Warnings and 11.1) Pharmacodynamic properties] Use in elderly men Dose adjustments are not required in elderly patients. Use in men with renal impairment No dose adjustment is required in patients with mild to moderate renal impairment. The maximum recommended dose in patients with severe renal impairment is 10mg. [See section 11.2) Pharmacokinetic properties]. Use in men with hepatic impairment The recommended dose is 10mg, taken with or without food before anticipated sexual activity. Since clinical data on the safety of this medicine in patients with severe hepatic impairment (Child-Pugh Class C) are limited, if prescribing it, the physician should carefully assess the individual benefit/risk. There are no data on administration of doses higher than 10mg to patients with hepatic impairment. [See sections 3. Patients requiring cautious administration and 11.2) Pharmacokinetic properties]. Use in men with diabetes Dose adjustment is not required in patients with diabetes.
This medicine should not be used in people under 18 years of age.
This medication is used for the treatment of erectile dysfunction, and the underlying cause must be confirmed through a doctor's diagnosis and physical examination before use. Sexual activity may put stress on the heart, so patients with unstable cardiovascular conditions should consult their doctor before taking this medication. If an erection lasts for more than 4 hours, immediate medical assistance should be sought, as leaving it untreated may cause damage to the penile tissue and permanent loss of erectile function. This medication should not be used in conjunction with nitrate preparations, as it can dangerously lower blood pressure; therefore, patients taking nitrates should not use this drug. Patients who have recently experienced cardiovascular diseases such as myocardial infarction, stroke, or unstable angina are prohibited from taking this medication. Patients with hereditary retinal diseases or allergies to this medication’s ingredients should also not receive it. Combining this medication with other erectile dysfunction treatments is not recommended due to lack of safety data. Patients with penile deformities or specific blood disorders should use caution when taking this drug. Patients with severely impaired kidney or liver function should be evaluated by a doctor before use. Patients taking certain antihypertensive medications may experience symptoms of hypotension, so caution is advised. This medication may cause side effects such as headaches, dyspepsia, back pain, muscle pain, flushing, and other mild to moderate effects. Serious cardiovascular adverse reactions, or vision and hearing loss have been reported rarely, and if any unusual symptoms occur, immediate consultation with medical personnel is necessary. Caution should be taken as taking this medication with alcohol may increase blood pressure lowering and dizziness. This medication is not to be used by pregnant or breastfeeding women or children. While there is generally no significant impact on driving or machinery operation, it is advisable to confirm individual responses. In the case of overdose, standard emergency procedures should be followed; hemodialysis does not significantly affect the elimination of this medication. This medication should be kept out of reach of children and stored in its original packaging.
