(Treatment of hypertension, heart failure) and improvement of hypercholesterolemia
This medication is used for patients who require the combined administration of valsartan and rosuvastatin. Valsartan treats essential hypertension and heart failure, particularly in heart failure patients intolerant to ACE inhibitors, and helps reduce the risk of death after myocardial infarction. Rosuvastatin is used to treat hypercholesterolemia, combined hyperlipidemia, and familial hypercholesterolemia, and serves as an adjunct when dietary control is insufficient. Additionally, it improves health by reducing the risk of stroke, myocardial infarction, and arterial revascularization in patients at high risk for cardiovascular disease. This combination medication is used effectively to manage the health status of patients with concomitant hypertension and dyslipidemia.
Valsartan: For adults with essential hypertension, the recommended oral dose is 80 mg once daily. If blood pressure control is inadequate, it can be increased to 160 mg daily, and if necessary, can be further increased to a maximum of 320 mg per day. Elderly patients (75 years and older) should start at 40 mg once daily. The dosage should be adjusted for renal impairment, intravascular volume depletion, and liver impairment. For adults with heart failure, the recommended starting dose is 40 mg taken orally twice a day, which can be increased to 80 mg or 160 mg as needed.
Valsartan: The safety and effectiveness in children and adolescents under 18 years of age have not been established, therefore it should not be administered. Rosuvastatin: There are no specific dosing instructions for children, and no separate dosage guidance is provided.
