Precautions

This drug should not be used in patients with hypersensitivity to quinolone antibiotics. During use, shock symptoms such as nausea, cold extremities, and difficulty breathing may rarely occur, so if these symptoms manifest, discontinue use immediately and seek appropriate medical treatment. Allergic reactions can cause cardiovascular collapse, loss of consciousness, swelling around the face or neck, difficulty breathing, rashes, and itching; thus, if these symptoms appear, the medication should be stopped. Temporary burning or stinging, redness, itching, tearing, blurred vision, and other symptoms might occur in the eye, and in severe cases, it may progress to serious eye diseases such as keratitis or Stevens-Johnson syndrome, so use should be stopped immediately if unusual symptoms arise. Rarely reported side effects such as hearing loss or taste disturbances should also be carefully monitored. Tendonitis or tendon rupture may occur, particularly in the elderly or those using steroids. If pain or inflammation occurs in the shoulder, hands, or Achilles tendon, the medication should be discontinued. To prevent the emergence of resistant strains, this drug should only be used for the necessary minimum duration following susceptibility testing, and prolonged use should be avoided as it may lead to excessive growth of non-susceptible bacteria such as fungi. Women who are pregnant or may become pregnant should carefully consider the benefits and risks of using this medication, and nursing mothers are advised to stop breastfeeding or discontinue the medication. Safety and efficacy in pediatric populations have not been sufficiently established, therefore it is advisable not to use this medication in children. This medication is intended for ophthalmic use only, and care should be taken to avoid contact of the tip of the container with the eye during application. To prevent contamination due to co-use, it should be used individually as much as possible, and during storage, it should be kept out of reach of children in a cool place away from direct sunlight. Moreover, to maintain quality, do not transfer to another container.
