Treatment of gastroesophageal reflux disease (including erosive esophagitis), treatment and prevention of recurrence of Helicobacter pylori positive peptic ulcers, alleviation of gastrointestinal symptoms related to non-steroidal anti-inflammatory analgesics.
This medication is used for the treatment of gastroesophageal reflux disease, specifically erosive reflux esophagitis, and for long-term maintenance therapy to prevent recurrence in patients with esophagitis. It is also helpful in relieving symptoms of gastroesophageal reflux disease without esophagitis. As part of antibiotic combination therapy aimed at eradicating Helicobacter pylori, it is effective in treating and preventing recurrence of duodenal ulcers and peptic ulcers. Additionally, it is utilized for short-term treatment of upper gastrointestinal symptoms due to non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug use, and for the treatment and prevention of gastric ulcers and duodenal ulcers. It is also used in the treatment of Zollinger-Ellison syndrome and as maintenance therapy following the prevention of rebleeding from gastric or duodenal ulcers. Thus, it is effectively used for the treatment and prevention of various gastrointestinal diseases.
This medication should be swallowed with liquid, such as water, and should not be chewed or crushed. 1. Adults 1) Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) - Treatment of erosive reflux esophagitis: Administer 40 mg once daily for 4 weeks. For patients whose esophagitis is not resolved or symptoms persist, continue for an additional 4 weeks. - Long-term maintenance therapy to prevent recurrence in patients with esophagitis: 20 mg once daily.
Adolescents aged 12 and older 1) Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) - Treatment of erosive reflux esophagitis: Administer 40 mg once daily for 4 weeks - Treatment of symptoms of gastroesophageal reflux disease without esophagitis: ·
