Precautions

This drug may affect liver function, so if symptoms of liver dysfunction or jaundice appear, discontinue use immediately and seek appropriate treatment. It contains zinc, which may interfere with copper absorption, so caution is needed as patients with poor nutritional status may develop anemia or leukopenia due to copper deficiency. If hypersensitivity reactions such as skin rash, itching, or hives occur, the use of the drug should be stopped, and abnormalities such as eosinophilia or leukopenia may be found in blood tests. Gastrointestinal symptoms such as nausea, abdominal bloating, constipation, vomiting, heartburn, and diarrhea may occur, and if symptoms are severe, consult a physician. The safety during pregnancy has not been established, so women who are pregnant or may become pregnant should only use this medication after carefully considering the benefits and risks of treatment. Breastfeeding mothers should avoid breastfeeding as this drug may be passed into breast milk. Safety in children has not been sufficiently established, so it is advisable not to use it in children. Elderly patients may have decreased digestive function, so the dosage should be reduced and the patient's condition should be closely monitored during administration. When taken with other medications, drug interactions may occur, so it is especially important to avoid taking it simultaneously with penicillamine or levothyroxine sodium.
