Treatment of gastroesophageal reflux disease (reflux esophagitis) and positive Helicobacter pylori peptic ulcer treatment, prevention of gastric and duodenal ulcers
This medication is used for the treatment of gastroesophageal reflux disease, especially reflux esophagitis, and for long-term maintenance therapy to prevent recurrence in esophagitis patients. It is also effective in alleviating symptoms of gastroesophageal reflux disease without esophagitis. It is used in combination with antibiotics for the eradication of Helicobacter pylori and helps in the treatment and prevention of recurrence of duodenal and peptic ulcers caused by H. pylori. It is also effective in treating upper gastrointestinal symptoms and gastric ulcers associated with the use of nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), as well as preventing gastric and duodenal ulcers. It is widely used in the treatment of Zollinger-Ellison syndrome and prevention and maintenance therapy of rebleeding from gastric or duodenal ulcers. This medication is used for the treatment of various gastrointestinal-related diseases and symptom relief.
This medication must be swallowed with liquid, such as water, and should not be chewed or crushed. 1. Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) - Treatment of reflux esophagitis: 40 mg once daily for 4 weeks - Maintenance therapy to prevent recurrence in esophagitis: 20 mg once daily - Treatment of symptoms of gastroesophageal reflux disease without esophagitis: 20 mg once daily - If necessary, 20 mg once daily.
Adolescents aged 12 and older: - Treatment of reflux esophagitis: 40 mg once daily for 4 weeks - Treatment of symptoms of gastroesophageal reflux disease without esophagitis: 20 mg once daily
This medication should not be administered to patients who are hypersensitive to certain components or have previously experienced allergic reactions. It is also safe to avoid administration in patients currently taking certain antibiotics or antivirals, those with a history of myocardial infarction, and nursing women. This medication contains Yellow No. 5, so those allergic to this component should use it with caution. During treatment, various side effects such as headaches, dizziness, dyspepsia, skin rashes, and muscle pain may occur, so if any unusual symptoms arise, consult a doctor immediately. Especially with long-term use, there are risks of hypomagnesemia, increased fracture risk, and gastrointestinal infections, so regular monitoring is necessary. This medication may interact with other drugs, so it is essential to inform healthcare professionals about any concomitant medications, and dose adjustment or discontinuation may be necessary with certain medications. Pregnant or nursing women should consult a physician before taking this medication. In cases of overdose, there is no specific antidote, so it is crucial to go to the hospital immediately for appropriate treatment, and it is important to keep it out of reach of children. Also, transferring the medication to other containers is not advisable for maintaining quality.
