Treatment of moderate to severe Alzheimer's disease

This medication is taken orally once daily, at the same time every day. If necessary, it can be taken twice daily. Dosage increment steps increase by 5 mg per week over the first 3 weeks. Patients with changes in urine acidity or recent heart-related disorders should also exercise caution when using this medication. During use, symptoms such as dizziness, headache, constipation, drowsiness, and hypertension may occur; thus, if any abnormal symptoms appear, consult a physician. This medication may interact with other drugs, particularly those affecting the central nervous system, so it is essential to follow a specialist's guidance when taking them together. Women who are pregnant or breastfeeding should consult a doctor before taking this medication, and it is advisable to discontinue breastfeeding if possible. It is preferable not to use this medication in children or adolescents under 18 years of age, as safety and efficacy have not been established. In cases of overdose, central nervous system symptoms or digestive symptoms may appear; immediate medical attention is required in such cases. This medication may decrease the patient's reaction speed and concentration, so caution is advised when driving or operating machinery.
