Treatment and prevention of gastroesophageal reflux disease (erosive esophagitis), improvement of gastrointestinal diseases including treatment of Helicobacter pylori-positive peptic ulcers
This medicine is used for the treatment and prevention of gastroesophageal reflux disease, especially erosive esophagitis. It is also effective for the relief of symptoms of gastroesophageal reflux disease without esophagitis. It is utilized in combination therapy with antibiotics for the treatment and prevention of duodenal ulcers or peptic ulcers caused by Helicobacter pylori infection. It helps in the treatment and prevention of gastrointestinal symptoms, gastric ulcers, and duodenal ulcers due to the use of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs. It is also used for the treatment of Zollinger-Ellison syndrome and for preventive and maintenance therapy for bleeding due to gastric and duodenal ulcers. It is used for the treatment and prevention of various gastrointestinal diseases and related symptoms.
This medicine should be swallowed with liquids such as water and should not be chewed or crushed. 1. Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) - Treatment of erosive esophagitis: 40 mg once daily for 4 weeks - Long-term maintenance therapy to prevent recurrence in esophagitis patients: 20 mg once daily - Symptomatic treatment of gastroesophageal reflux disease without esophagitis: 20 mg once daily - If needed,
Adolescents aged 12 years or older - Treatment of erosive esophagitis: 40 mg once daily for 4 weeks - Symptomatic treatment of gastroesophageal reflux disease without esophagitis: 20 mg once daily -
This medicine should not be used in certain patients. Patients who have had allergic reactions to this drug, its components, or similar drugs should not take it. Additionally, patients currently taking certain antibiotics or antiviral medications, those with a history of myocardial infarction, and breastfeeding women should avoid using this drug. This medicine contains the color additive Yellow No. 5, and caution is needed for patients with a history of allergies to this ingredient. Various side effects may occur when taking this drug, including blood disorders, allergic reactions, electrolyte imbalances, mental changes, headaches, gastrointestinal disturbances, abnormal liver function, rashes, etc. Especially, if symptoms like muscle pain or weakness occur, immediate consultation with a medical professional is necessary due to the possibility of serious muscle damage known as rhabdomyolysis. Long-term use of this drug may conceal the symptoms of malignant tumors, so regular medical examinations by a doctor are necessary, and there may be a slightly increased risk of bacterial infections in the gastrointestinal tract. Additionally, prolonged use may increase the risk of osteoporotic fractures, so patients at risk for fractures should be monitored by a doctor. This medicine may interact with other drugs, and caution is especially needed when taken with antibiotics, antiviral medications, anticoagulants, and anticonvulsants. Therefore, if you are taking other medications, you must consult your doctor or pharmacist. The safety of this medicine has not been fully established during pregnancy, so pregnant women should take it cautiously after consulting a doctor, and it is advisable for breastfeeding women to avoid taking this drug. In case of overdose, as there is no specific antidote, appropriate treatment should be administered according to symptoms, and caution is needed as this drug is not removed by dialysis. Finally, this medicine should be kept out of reach of children, and transferring it to another container is not advisable to maintain its quality.
