Precautions

This drug must not be injected sub-conjunctivally or directly into the anterior chamber of the eye. Cases of severe and sometimes fatal allergic reactions have been reported in some patients who have received systemic quinolone therapy similar to the ingredients of this medication. Such reactions may include cardiovascular collapse, loss of consciousness, angioedema, difficulty breathing, urticaria, and itching. If allergic symptoms occur, use of this medication must be stopped immediately, and rapid emergency treatment may be necessary. Do not use this medication in patients with hypersensitivity to this drug or allergic to quinolone drugs, and in infants less than 1 year of age. Pregnant or nursing women should exercise caution when using this medication and carefully consider the risks to the fetus or baby against the benefits of treatment. Various adverse reactions may occur, including inflammation of the eye, decreased vision, dryness, redness, pain, itching, bleeding, and tears, with some patients also reporting symptoms such as fever, cough, and sore throat. Rarely, serious allergic reactions like shock or anaphylaxis may occur, so if symptoms such as rash, difficulty breathing, or low blood pressure appear, stop using the drug immediately and consult a healthcare professional. This medication should only be used for the minimum duration needed for infection treatment, as prolonged use can lead to excessive growth of other organisms. It is advisable to avoid wearing contact lenses when experiencing symptoms of bacterial conjunctivitis. This drug is for ophthalmic use only, and care should be taken to avoid contaminating the tip of the container. If using other eye drops, they should be administered at least 5 minutes apart.
