Rarely, neurological symptoms such as headaches or altered taste may occur, and dizziness can also arise. Eye-related side effects have been reported including keratitis, eye pain, dry eyes, eyelid swelling, itching, eye discharge, and redness. Additionally, glare, blurred vision, and redness of the eyelids may rarely occur. Dryness of the nose or symptoms of rhinitis may occur, and dry mouth or dermatitis may appear. Fatigue may also be felt. In clinical trials, symptoms similar to colds or pharyngitis appeared in about 10% of patients, with reports of malaise, low back pain, flu-like symptoms, frequent coughing, infections, nausea, and sinusitis. Post-marketing studies have confirmed instances of increased tear production. This medication contains phosphate, which poses a very rare risk of calcification in the cornea in patients with severe corneal damage. It is advisable not to use this medication for irritations related to contact lens wear. Temporary blurring of vision may occur after use, so it is important to wait until vision becomes clear before driving or operating machinery. Studies on interactions with other medications have not yet been conducted. During pregnancy, animal studies have shown risks of fetal effects, so when using by pregnant women, the risks to the fetus and the benefits of the medication should be carefully considered. Nursing mothers should consult with a healthcare professional, as the medication can be transmitted to the baby through breast milk. This medication can be safely used by children over the age of 3 and can be used by the elderly without special differences. In case of overdose, appropriate observation and treatment are necessary. This medication is intended for direct application to the eyes only and should not be used in any other way, such as orally or intravenously. Care should be taken not to let the tip of the container touch the eye directly, and the container should be securely closed after use to prevent contamination. Contact lenses should be avoided when the eyes are red. When using other eye drops, they should be administered with at least a 5-minute interval, and ointments should be used last. For single-use products, it is advisable to use only once after opening, and to discard the first 1-2 drops. This medication is known to have a low risk of carcinogenicity, mutagenicity, and reproductive toxicity.
