Precautions

This medication may increase heart rate, which could increase the risk of symptoms of angina, hence care should be taken to observe for symptoms such as chest pain. It should not be used in patients with a risk of bleeding or those who have recently experienced bleeding, patients with heart failure, individuals with allergies to this medication or its ingredients, pregnant women or those who may become pregnant, and nursing mothers. Patients taking anticoagulants, antiplatelet agents, thrombolytics, women menstruating, patients with coronary artery stenosis, patients with severe renal or hepatic failure, diabetic patients, hypertensive patients, and those with cardiac rhythm abnormalities should use this medication cautiously. Side effects that may occur include headache, diarrhea, palpitations, joint swelling, chest discomfort, and serious complications can include severe bleeding, blood disorders, pneumonia, and heart problems. Medical personnel should be notified immediately if any symptoms arise. For patients with cerebral infarction, administration should occur only after symptoms have stabilized, and caution should be observed regarding the risk of bleeding when using this in conjunction with other anticoagulant medications, as well as ensuring good blood pressure control. Care should be exercised while driving or operating machinery as dizziness may occur, and it is best taken on an empty stomach as taking it with a high-fat meal may increase blood concentration and the risk of side effects. This drug is metabolized in the liver; therefore, dosage adjustments are necessary in patients with impaired liver or kidney function, and caution regarding potential interactions with specific medications is required by consulting with medical personnel. Women who are pregnant or breastfeeding should not take this medication, and its safety in children has not been established, thus caution is also necessary in their use. Elderly patients should be carefully monitored for dosage adjustments due to potential decline in physical function. In cases of overdose, severe headache, diarrhea, hypotension, tachycardia, and arrhythmia may occur, requiring immediate treatment at a medical facility.
