Patients with a history of drug allergies, liver or kidney function problems, patients undergoing dialysis, and elderly patients should use this drug with caution. This medication may cause severe allergic reactions such as anaphylaxis; if symptoms such as facial pallor, low blood pressure, skin redness, or difficulty breathing occur, the patient should immediately stop taking it and seek medical assistance. As liver function abnormalities or jaundice symptoms may occur, regular liver function tests should be conducted, and if abnormalities are detected, administration should be stopped. A decrease in blood cell counts may occur leading to agranulocytosis or thrombocytopenia; if symptoms such as sore throat, body aches, or fever arise, the patient should consult a doctor immediately. Rarely, serious side effects such as skin rashes, seizures, nephritis, and heart problems have been reported; if these symptoms occur, the patient should inform the healthcare provider immediately. Gastrointestinal side effects such as constipation, diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, abdominal bloating, and loss of appetite may occur, while central nervous system side effects such as headaches, insomnia, and drowsiness may also happen. Due to decreased physical functions in the elderly, dosage and administration intervals should be adjusted, and their condition should be closely monitored. Dialysis patients may experience increased plasma drug concentrations, so treatment should start with a low dose and be administered cautiously. In children, safety has not been sufficiently established, so caution is required when using this drug. This medication should be kept out of reach of children and stored in its original container to prevent misuse or degradation in quality. If symptoms suggestive of malignant tumors occur, this medication may alleviate symptoms or delay diagnosis; therefore, tests such as endoscopy should confirm the presence of malignant tumors. If no effect is observed during treatment, it is advisable to switch to another therapy and regularly conduct blood tests along with liver and kidney function tests to check for abnormalities.
