This medication is used for various conditions related to gastric and duodenal ulcers, anastomotic ulcers, and upper gastrointestinal bleeding. It is particularly helpful in treating bleeding caused by peptic ulcers, acute stress ulcers, and hemorrhagic gastritis. It is also effective for gastroesophageal reflux disease and Zollinger-Ellison syndrome. It improves symptoms such as erosion, bleeding, redness, and swelling of the gastric mucosa that appear during acute exacerbation of acute and chronic gastritis. It is used to enhance the gastric health of patients by improving mucosal lesions in various gastrointestinal diseases.
Gastric and duodenal ulcers, anastomotic ulcers, upper gastrointestinal bleeding, gastroesophageal reflux disease, Zollinger-Ellison syndrome: As famotidine, 20 mg orally twice daily (after breakfast, after dinner, or at bedtime) or 40 mg orally once daily (at bedtime). There may be a decrease in blood cell counts or blood abnormalities such as anemia and thrombocytopenia, necessitating regular blood tests.
