View approved original text

This medication is used as an adjunct to dietary therapy to lower elevated triglyceride levels in patients with endogenous hypertriglyceridemia. It is particularly helpful in reducing triglycerides in patients with hypertriglyceridemia (Type IV) when taken alone. Additionally, it effectively regulates blood lipid levels when used in combination with statins in patients with combined hypercholesterolemia and hypertriglyceridemia (Type IIb). It also contributes to improving blood lipid status with consistent treatment, even when control is not achieved through combination therapy. Thus, this medication is used to treat various types of dyslipidemia and improve blood triglyceride levels.
