This medication is used to treat essential hypertension and control blood pressure. It is also effective in patients with heart failure who are intolerant to ACE inhibitors, specifically those classified under NYHA class II to IV. It reduces the risk of mortality due to myocardial infarction in stable patients with left ventricular dysfunction or impaired systolic function. Thus, it can aid in managing essential hypertension and treating heart failure, as well as enhancing survival rates after myocardial infarction.
