Treatment of idiopathic Parkinson's disease
This is a treatment for idiopathic Parkinson's disease. Initially, dopamine agonists are used alone or in combination with other medications as needed to relieve symptoms. Additionally, in cases where motor fluctuations occur while using levodopa, dopamine agonists are administered as adjunct therapy to control the symptoms. This approach effectively manages the motor symptoms of Parkinson's disease. Combination therapy significantly aids in improving the patient's daily life and optimizing the effects of the medication.
This medicine is administered orally once daily to adults as monotherapy or adjunctive therapy. 1) Monotherapy or adjunctive therapy to a dopamine agonist: Administer 1 mg orally once daily. 2) Adjunctive therapy to levodopa: The recommended initial dose for patients taking levodopa is 0.5 mg once daily. If the dose is well tolerated but the clinical response is inadequate, it may be increased to 1 mg once daily. This medicine may be taken with or without food.
