Precautions

This medication should not be used in patients with hypersensitivity to this drug or its components. Patients with orthostatic hypotension who may experience a sudden drop in blood pressure should also avoid taking this medication, as it may worsen their symptoms. Patients with severe liver dysfunction should avoid using this medication because its blood concentration may increase. Women who are pregnant or may become pregnant should not take this medication. Patients with severely impaired kidney function should use this medication with caution as its concentration may increase. Elderly patients should also be particularly cautious when taking this drug. When taking antihypertensive medications, PDE5 inhibitors (erectile dysfunction medications), or CYP3A4 inhibitors (such as certain antibiotics or antifungals) simultaneously with this medication, there may be an increased risk of side effects due to interactions, so care should be taken during administration. As this medication is an alpha-1 blocker, the risk of orthostatic hypotension may occur when combined with other alpha-1 blockers; thus, it is generally advised not to take them together unless absolutely necessary, in which case it should be done with caution. Side effects such as dizziness, headache, abdominal discomfort, diarrhea, dyspepsia, and reduced semen volume may occur upon administration, and rarely, syncope due to blood pressure drop or allergic reactions have also been reported. This medication can lower blood pressure, so care should be taken to avoid overdose, and caution is advised when changing positions quickly to avoid a sudden drop in blood pressure. Dizziness and other symptoms may occur when driving or operating dangerous machinery, so caution is advised. This medication is for symptom relief rather than a cure, and if no effect is seen, other treatment options such as surgery should be considered. Patients with a history of allergies, especially those allergic to sulfa drugs, should exercise caution when taking this medication. The tablet should be taken out of the PTP packaging and should not be chewed, but should be swallowed whole to prevent esophageal injury. Store out of reach of children, and it is advisable not to transfer it to another container to maintain the quality of the medication. It is not used in women who are pregnant or breastfeeding, or in children under 18, as safety and efficacy have not been established. During the use of this medication, caution should be taken with interactions with antihypertensives, certain antibiotics, antifungals, and erectile dysfunction medications, and if any unusual symptoms occur during treatment, immediate consultation with a healthcare professional is required.
