Precautions

This medication should not be used in certain patients. First, it should not be administered to patients who have had allergic reactions to this medication or its components. Additionally, patients with symptoms of orthostatic hypotension may experience worsening symptoms, so it is advisable not to use this medication. Patients with severely impaired liver function may also see elevated blood drug concentrations, hence it should not be administered. The medication is not recommended for women who are pregnant or may become pregnant. Patients with severe kidney impairment should use this medication with caution as the concentration of the medication may increase. Elderly patients require special attention, and patients taking PDE5 inhibitors should be cautious when using this medication together due to the risk of blood pressure reduction. Patients taking drugs that inhibit the CYP3A4 enzyme may also require caution as the concentration of this medication may increase. Patients taking antihypertensive medications may experience orthostatic hypotension, requiring dosage adjustment or careful administration. It is generally advised that patients already taking alpha-1 blockers do not combine this medication unless absolutely necessary and with extreme caution. Patients with a history of urination syncope should also be careful when using this medication. While taking this medication, side effects such as dizziness, headache, dyspepsia, diarrhea, and abdominal discomfort may occur. In particular, fainting or loss of consciousness may occur due to blood pressure reduction, so if any unusual symptoms arise, consult a physician immediately. If allergic reactions such as skin rash, itching, or hives occur, medication administration should be discontinued. This medication can lower blood pressure, so care should be taken to avoid overdose. During use, care should be taken for blood pressure drop from sudden position changes, and caution should be exercised while driving or working at heights due to potential dizziness. This medication is a therapeutic agent for symptom relief; if ineffective, other treatment options such as surgery should be considered. The safety of this medication has not been verified for use in pregnant or breastfeeding women, and it is preferable not to use it in children as efficacy and safety have not been established. This medication is in an extended-release form, so it should not be chewed or crushed, but taken whole directly from the packaging. It should be kept out of reach of children and not transferred to another container. There may be interactions with other antihypertensive medications, PDE5 inhibitors, and CYP3A4 inhibitors during the course of this medication, so consultation with a doctor or pharmacist is necessary. Precautions are especially required when taking with specific antifungal or antibiotic medications, or certain cardiovascular drugs. Finally, while this medication helps relieve symptoms of prostatic hyperplasia, it is important to confirm the absence of prostate cancer before treatment, as symptoms can be similar.
