Treatment of hypertension and diabetic nephropathy
This medication is used to treat hypertension. It is especially helpful in treating kidney diseases in patients with type 2 diabetes who have hypertension. It is effective in preventing and improving kidney complications associated with hypertension.
This medication can be taken without regard to meals, but it is recommended to take it at the same time every day. For the treatment of hypertension, the initial and maintenance dose is recommended to be 50 mg orally once daily. If the treatment effect is insufficient, the dose can be divided and taken twice daily or increased to a maximum of 100 mg once daily if needed. For treating kidney diseases in patients with type 2 diabetes who have hypertension, the usual dose is 50 mg once daily, adjusted according to blood pressure.
In children and adolescents aged 6 years and older weighing 20 kg to less than 50 kg, 25 mg should be administered once daily, with a maximum increase to 50 mg once daily possible. For those weighing 50 kg or more...
This medication can cause serious harm to the fetus when taken during pregnancy, especially in the second and third trimesters, so it should be stopped immediately upon confirmation of pregnancy. Patients who have an allergy to this medication, are pregnant, have severely impaired liver function, have a history of certain vascular angioedema, or have primary hyperaldosteronism should not take this medication. Elderly patients, those with hyperkalemia, patients with slightly impaired liver function, patients with heart or vascular diseases, and patients with impaired kidney function should use this medication with caution and have their conditions closely monitored by a physician. Side effects may include muscle cramps, dizziness, cold symptoms, and dyspepsia, and in rare cases may lead to angioedema, liver dysfunction, muscle damage, or severe skin reactions, thus any unusual symptoms should be reported to a doctor immediately. Patients with impaired liver function may need their dose adjusted due to increased drug concentration, and caution is needed in those with impaired kidney function as well. During treatment with this medication, blood pressure, kidney function, and serum electrolyte levels should be regularly monitored, especially since there is a risk of elevated potassium levels; potassium supplements or potassium-containing salt substitutes should not be taken without consulting a physician. When taking this medication with other antihypertensives, diuretics, non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, lithium, and other medications, interactions may occur, so it is crucial to inform the physician of all medications being taken. If severe hypotension, loss of consciousness, severe hepatitis symptoms, or renal failure symptoms occur while taking this medication, it should be discontinued immediately and medical treatment sought. This medication is not recommended for children, especially those under 6 years of age or children with severely impaired kidney function, as its safety and efficacy have not been established. Women of childbearing potential must confirm their pregnancy status before taking this medication, avoid its use during pregnancy, and breastfeeding women should discontinue breastfeeding while taking this medication. Dizziness or drowsiness may occur when taking this medication; caution is advised when driving or operating machinery, particularly at the beginning of treatment or when changing doses. In the case of overdose, hypotension and changes in heart rate may occur, necessitating immediate medical attention, and this medication is not removed through hemodialysis. This medication should be stored out of reach of children, and transferring it to another container should be avoided to maintain quality and safety.
Hives, severe swelling (angioedema), cold sweat, difficulty breathing, chest tightness, vascular swelling (which may cause laryngeal/pharyngeal swelling, swelling of the face/lips/pharynx/tongue), anaphylactoid syndrome (malaise, oral dysesthesia, sweating, hives, difficulty breathing, generalized flushing, swelling), severe rashes with high fever, blisters, skin peeling, oral/ocular mucosal pain, jaundice (yellow discoloration of the skin or eyes).

This medication should be stored in a tightly closed container to protect it from air and moisture. It is best to maintain a room temperature between 1 and 30 degrees Celsius.
