Improvement of voiding disorders associated with benign prostatic hyperplasia

This medicine should not be used in certain patients. Patients who have had an allergy to this medicine or its components, those with symptoms of orthostatic hypotension, patients with severely impaired liver function, and women who are pregnant or of childbearing potential should not take this medicine. Care should be taken when administering this medicine to patients with severely impaired renal function, elderly patients, and patients taking PDE5 inhibitors, antihypertensives, or CYP3A4 inhibitors. In particular, patients already taking alpha-1 blockers or with a history of urinary syncope should generally not take this medicine but must do so carefully if absolutely necessary. While taking this medicine, dizziness, blood pressure drop, heart rhythm abnormalities, allergic reactions, dyspepsia, liver function abnormalities, rashes, and other side effects may occur, so careful observation is necessary. In severe cases, loss of consciousness or fainting may occur, so if such symptoms arise, immediately discontinue use and consult a healthcare professional. In case of overdose, there is a risk of rapid blood pressure drop, so the prescribed dosage must be strictly followed. Dizziness may occur upon standing, so one should move slowly when changing positions, and caution is needed when driving or doing hazardous tasks. As symptoms of prostate cancer and benign prostatic hyperplasia can be similar, it is essential to check for prostate cancer before taking this medicine. Rarely, persistent erection may occur, and in such cases, the doctor should be notified immediately. Patients taking this medicine who are scheduled for cataract or glaucoma surgery should inform the surgical team, as intraoperative intraocular pressure reduction syndrome may occur. Patients with a history of allergy to sulfonamide drugs should exercise special caution when taking this medicine. This medicine may cause blood pressure to drop too low when taken with other antihypertensives or PDE5 inhibitors, so adjustments should be made according to a doctor's instructions. Additionally, caution should be taken when combining with certain antifungal agents, antibiotics, or antiviral agents, as drug concentrations may increase and the risk of side effects may grow, so it is essential to inform the healthcare provider about the medications being taken. This medicine is not to be used by women or children, and elderly patients should start at a lower dose considering their renal function. When taking the medicine, it should be swallowed whole with water without chewing or opening the capsule, especially for PTP packaged medications, as removal from the packaging can help prevent esophageal damage. Store out of reach of children and do not transfer to a different container, as this is safer.
