Precautions

This medication can cause serious harm or death to the fetus and newborn if taken during pregnancy, especially in the second and third trimesters, so it should be discontinued immediately if pregnancy is confirmed. This medication should not be used in individuals who are allergic to the active ingredients or dihydropyridine derivatives, pregnant or breastfeeding women, patients with severe liver impairment or aortic stenosis, patients with biliary obstruction, patients on dialysis, patients in shock, certain diabetic patients, and patients with significantly impaired renal function. Patients with low blood volume or sodium levels may experience a significant drop in blood pressure at the beginning of treatment, so their condition should be closely monitored, and patients with heart or vascular issues should also use this medication cautiously due to the risk of rapid vasodilation leading to hypotension. This medication can cause various side effects such as dizziness, headache, hypotension, orthostatic hypotension, drowsiness, gastrointestinal symptoms, skin rash, and edema. If symptoms are severe, consult a physician, as serious side effects have also been reported occasionally. Sudden discontinuation of beta blockers can be risky, so if this medication is prescribed alongside beta blockers, they should be tapered off gradually. This medication can cause renal impairment or electrolyte imbalance in patients with poor kidney function or heart failure, necessitating regular monitoring. This medication should not be taken during pregnancy, and those planning to become pregnant or who are pregnant should consult a physician. Breastfeeding may result in the medication transferring to breast milk, potentially causing side effects in infants, so it may be advisable to discontinue breastfeeding or the medication. Safety and efficacy in children under 18 years have not been established, so it is not recommended for this age group. Elderly patients should start at a low dose and use cautiously due to potential renal and hepatic dysfunction. In case of overdose, symptoms may include hypotension and symptoms due to vasodilation, so immediate medical attention is necessary. This medication should be stored in a tightly closed container protected from direct sunlight and moisture, and it is best not to transfer it to another container.
