Precautions

This medication should not be used by patients who have had an allergic reaction to this medication or its ingredients. In particular, it may worsen symptoms in patients with orthostatic hypotension, where blood pressure drops suddenly. Patients with severely impaired liver function should avoid this medication as it may increase blood concentration levels. Women who are pregnant or may become pregnant should also not use this medication. Patients with severely impaired kidney function, elderly patients, and those taking certain medications should use this medication cautiously. Care is needed, especially if taking antihypertensive drugs, PDE5 inhibitors, CYP3A4 inhibitors, or alpha-1 blockers. This medication contains Yellow No. 5, so patients allergic to it should take caution. Possible side effects include dizziness, headache, indigestion, diarrhea, and abdominal discomfort. Rarely, severe allergic reactions or drops in blood pressure may occur. Due to the risk of fainting from a sudden drop in blood pressure, immediate consultation with healthcare professionals is essential if symptoms arise. While this medication is used for therapeutic effects, it is not a cure for the underlying cause, and alternative treatment methods should be considered if there is no effect. Caution is also needed during activities requiring alertness, such as driving or operating machinery, as dizziness or drowsiness may occur. Overdose of this medication may risk excessively low blood pressure, so it is crucial to adhere to the prescribed dosage and administration. As it is in capsule or controlled-release tablet form, it should be swallowed whole and not chewed or crushed, particularly to prevent esophageal damage by taking it directly from the PTP packaging. Keep out of reach of children and do not transfer to another container. Safety and efficacy have not been established in pregnant women or children, so it should not be used in these populations. Checking for prostate cancer prior to administration is important as serious side effects such as priapism can occur; notify healthcare professionals immediately if symptoms arise. Additionally, patients undergoing cataract or glaucoma surgery require special precautions during the procedure. Patients with sulfamide allergy should be cautious of allergic reactions when administering this medication. When taking other medications, ensure that you inform healthcare professionals of any current medications to check for possible interactions.
