View approved original text

This medicine is used as an adjunct to dietary therapy to reduce elevated triglyceride levels in patients with endogenous hypertriglyceridemia. It is particularly effective when used alone for severe hypertriglyceridemia (type IV) and should be used in combination with statin class drugs in patients with combined hypercholesterolemia and hypertriglyceridemia (type IIb). Therapeutic effects can also be expected when triglyceride levels cannot be controlled through combination therapy. This drug helps improve blood lipid levels to prevent cardiovascular diseases. It is ultimately used to effectively reduce triglyceride levels.
