Precautions

This medication should not be used in patients who have had hypersensitivity to certain components or benzimidazoles, as it may cause serious allergic reactions such as anaphylactic shock, angioedema, or bronchospasm. Additionally, patients taking certain antiviral medications such as atazanavir and nelfinavir should not use this medication as it may reduce the therapeutic effect due to drug interactions. It is not safe for women in the first three months of pregnancy or those who may become pregnant, as well as breastfeeding women, due to potential effects on the fetus or newborn. This medication primarily reduces gastric acid secretion and is used to treat related conditions, but long-term use may lead to liver dysfunction, hypomagnesemia, vitamin B12 absorption issues, etc., necessitating regular monitoring. Caution is needed for elderly patients aged 65 and older or those with a history of gastric ulcers, duodenal ulcers, or gastrointestinal bleeding, as the risk of gastrointestinal bleeding may increase. Prolonged use of this medication may raise the risk of fractures, particularly in cases of high-dose long-term use where bone density management is necessary. This medication suppresses gastric acid secretion, which may increase the risk of bacterial overgrowth in the gastrointestinal tract; consult a doctor if diarrhea persists. Side effects such as dizziness or vision disturbances may occur; caution is advised when driving or operating machinery. When taking this medication with other drugs, there is a potential for interactions, especially with anticoagulants, certain antivirals, and methotrexate; consult healthcare professionals if you are taking these. Do not chew or crush this medication; take it as is, and keep it out of reach of children. Experience is limited in children under 12 years; its use is not recommended. No specific symptoms are known in cases of overdose, but any unusual symptoms should prompt immediate consultation with a medical institution. If long-term use of this medication is necessary, follow the doctor's guidance regarding the minimum dosage and appropriate duration.
