This medication is used to effectively lower blood pressure in patients with essential hypertension whose blood pressure is inadequately controlled with mono-therapy of telmisartan or amlodipine.

How to take

Adult dose

The recommended dose is one tablet once daily, to be taken with water, regardless of meals. It is advised to take it at the same time every day (e.g. in the morning). 40/5 mg is administered to patients whose blood pressure is inadequately controlled by 5 mg amlodipine or 40 mg telmisartan. 80/5 mg is administered to patients whose blood pressure is inadequately controlled by 5 mg amlodipine or this medication 40/5 mg.

Child dose

The safety and efficacy of this medication in pediatric patients under 18 years of age have not been established, therefore its use is not recommended.

Precautions

This medication should not be taken by pregnant women, especially during the 2nd and 3rd trimesters, as it can cause serious harm to the fetus. Patients with allergies to the main ingredient or similar components, severe liver disease, biliary obstructive disease, heart valve obstruction, severe hypotension, cardiogenic shock, and unstable heart failure post-acute myocardial infarction should not use this medication. Caution should be exercised by patients with primary aldosteronism, certain heart valve diseases, impaired liver function, gastrointestinal disorders, renal artery hypertension, dialysis patients, and elderly patients. Common side effects may include dizziness or peripheral edema, and rarely fainting or serious allergic reactions. There may be a risk of too low blood pressure, hyperkalemia, or renal dysfunction, requiring regular blood tests and physician monitoring. As this medication can interact with other drugs, it is crucial to inform your doctor or pharmacist of any medications you are currently taking. Breastfeeding women should avoid using this medication, and it is not recommended for children or adolescents under 18 due to established safety concerns. In case of overdose, severe hypotension, dizziness, and cardiac issues may occur, and immediate medical attention should be sought. Keep this medication out of the reach of children and store it in its original packaging.

  • Difficulty or wheezing breathing, asthma attack, respiratory problems accompanied by cough and fever,
  • Yellowing of the skin or eyes (jaundice), systemic lethargy, liver dysfunction (jaundice),
  • Sudden and very severe headache
