View approved original text

This medication is used to reduce elevated triglycerides in patients with hypertriglyceridemia (Type IV). It can be effective when used alone and is more effectively treated in patients with combined hypercholesterolemia and hypertriglyceridemia (Type IIb) in conjunction with statin drugs. It helps improve blood lipid levels when used alongside statins, even in patients who have difficulty controlling triglyceride levels. This medication is also utilized as an adjunct to dietary therapy, contributing to overall management of blood lipid levels.
