Precautions

This medication should not be used in patients who have had allergic reactions to this drug or its components. Patients with orthostatic hypotension should not use it, as symptoms may worsen. Patients with severely impaired liver function should avoid using this drug as blood levels may increase. Pregnant women or those who may become pregnant should not take this medication. This drug contains lactose, so it should not be taken by patients with lactose intolerance or certain genetic issues. Patients with severe kidney disease should use this drug with caution as drug concentration may increase. Elderly patients may respond differently to this medication, so caution is warranted. Patients taking specific medications such as PDE5 inhibitors, CYP3A4 inhibitors, or antihypertensives should exercise caution due to potential interactions. In particular, patients taking alpha1-blockers should generally avoid this medication, but it may be administered cautiously if absolutely necessary. Patients with a history of urination-related syncope should also avoid it generally but may use it if necessary with caution. Taking this medication may cause side effects such as dizziness, headaches, dyspepsia, diarrhea, abdominal discomfort, upper abdominal pain, and reduced semen volume. Syncope or loss of consciousness due to blood pressure drop may occur rarely, so immediate consultation with a physician is necessary if unusual symptoms arise. If allergic reactions such as rash, itching, or urticaria occur, administration should be stopped immediately. Rarely, liver dysfunction or jaundice may occur, requiring careful monitoring. In case of overdose, blood pressure may drop significantly; therefore, it is essential to adhere to the prescribed dosage. Monitor blood pressure changes when standing, and avoid working from heights or driving when experiencing dizziness. This medication serves as a symptomatic relief treatment and does not address the underlying cause, so alternative treatments should be considered if ineffective. This medication should be swallowed whole and not chewed, and should be taken directly from the packaging. It should be kept in a safe place out of reach of children, and it is preferable to avoid transferring it to another container. The safety and efficacy of this medication have not been established in pregnant women or pediatric patients under 18 years of age, and its use is not recommended. In elderly patients with severely impaired kidney function, safety has not been evaluated, hence caution is advised. Like other alpha1-blockers, this medication can rarely cause priapism, a condition requiring immediate treatment. Patients undergoing cataract or glaucoma surgery should inform their doctor beforehand, as intraoperative miosis may occur.
