Treatment of moderate to severe Alzheimer's disease
This medication is used for the treatment of moderate to severe Alzheimer's disease. It may help improve the patient's memory and cognitive function.
This medication is administered orally once daily and should be taken at the same time each day. Dose escalation: The maximum daily dose is 20 mg, and it should be increased by 5 mg weekly over the first 3 weeks. - First week (Day 1-7): 5 mg once daily - Second week (Day 8-14): 10 mg once daily - Third week (Day 15-21): 15 mg once daily - From the fourth week onward: 20 mg once daily Maintenance dose: The recommended maintenance dose is 1 day
This medicine should not be used in patients who are allergic to its components or in patients with severe liver or kidney dysfunction. Patients with epilepsy or a history of seizures, and those predisposed to seizures should use this medication with caution. Co-administration with other medications that have similar effects may increase central nervous system side effects, so combination should be avoided. Patients with altered urinary acidity or those who have recently experienced heart disease should exercise caution when using this medication. During treatment with this medicine, side effects such as dizziness, headaches, constipation, drowsiness, and hypertension may occur. If symptoms are severe, consult a doctor. It may interact with other drugs, especially antipsychotic medications, muscle relaxants, and anticoagulants, so it is important to inform your doctor if you are taking any of these.
