This medication is effective for ulcers of the stomach and duodenum, anastomotic ulcers, and gastric bleeding disorders associated with bleeding. It is also used for the treatment of gastroesophageal reflux disease and Zollinger-Ellison syndrome. It helps improve the erosion, bleeding, redness, and swelling of the gastric mucosa occurring during acute exacerbations of acute and chronic gastritis. In injection form, it is used for treating gastric bleeding, Zollinger-Ellison syndrome, and for premedication before anesthesia. This drug is used to relieve symptoms of gastrointestinal diseases and improve gastric mucosal lesions.

Dosage and Administration

Precautions

This medication should not be used by patients with allergies to specific ingredients or with genetic lactose intolerance problems. Common side effects can include skin rashes, dyspepsia, changes in blood pressure, headache, drowsiness, and dizziness. This medication dissolves in the mouth but is not absorbed; it must be swallowed with saliva or water, and regular blood tests along with liver and kidney function tests should be conducted. It is important to inform your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking specific antifungals or some anticancer drugs, as interactions may reduce the efficacy. The elderly may have reduced kidney function, which can increase drug concentration, necessitating dose adjustments. Women who are pregnant or may become pregnant should carefully consider the benefits and risks before using this medication, and it is advisable to discontinue breastfeeding while using this drug. Safety in children has not been sufficiently confirmed, so caution is needed in their use. Oral medications that dissolve in the mouth should not be taken lying down without water; they should be placed on the tongue to dissolve with saliva before swallowing. Lastly, this medication can mask the symptoms of gastric cancer, thus it should only be used after confirming it is not a case of gastric cancer.
