Precautions

This medication should not be administered to patients with hypercalcemia, sarcoidosis, or those with renal diseases. Patients who have allergic reactions to this medication or its components, infants under 12 months, patients with kidney stones, and patients with severe renal impairment should also refrain from taking this medication. It is safe not to take medications such as phosphate, calcium salts, oral tetracycline antibiotics, and antacids concurrently while using this medication. Infants under 1 year, patients currently undergoing medical treatment, children receiving plenty of sunlight and normal meals, pregnant or lactating women, premature infants, and newborns should consult a healthcare professional before taking this medication. Particularly, pregnant women should be cautious as taking this medication can result in Vitamin D being transferred to the newborn through breast milk, potentially leading to hypercalcemia. Patients with heart and circulatory issues, renal disorders, hypoproteinemia, those taking cardiac glycosides, and those with a history of kidney stones should also consult a specialist before taking this medication. This medication contains Yellow 203 dye, which should be administered cautiously to patients who have had allergic or hypersensitive reactions to this component. If symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, constipation, low blood pressure, flushing of the face, irregular heartbeat, or skin rashes occur during use, the medication should be discontinued immediately, and a healthcare professional should be consulted. Additionally, overdose may lead to gastrointestinal disturbances, hypernatremia, congestive heart failure, and edema, so caution is required. Long-term use may result in hypercalcemia or nephrolithiasis, therefore regular check-ups are necessary. Caution should be taken when using this medication concurrently with aldosterone antagonists or triamterene, as it may dangerously increase serum potassium levels. If an incorrect dosage is taken or if symptoms do not improve after one month, it is advisable to consult a specialist. Always adhere to the prescribed usage and dosage, and when administering to children, supervision by a guardian is essential. It is recommended to avoid drinking tannin-containing teas such as green tea and black tea during or immediately before and after taking this medication. This medication should be kept out of the reach of children and stored in a sealed container, away from direct sunlight, in a cool and dry place. It is also important not to switch this medication to another container to prevent misuse and maintain its quality.
