Precautions

This medication should not be administered to certain patients. Individuals who are allergic to this medication, its ingredients, or similar antihistamines should not use it. Those at risk for asthma attacks should also refrain from taking this medication. It may be dangerous for glaucoma patients with increased eye pressure. Patients with narrowed ulcers or obstructions in the digestive tract should avoid this medication. Those with obstruction at the bladder outlet should also refrain from taking it. Individuals taking specific medications known as monoamine oxidase inhibitors should avoid this medication due to the potential exacerbation of central nervous system side effects. Also, those with allergies to soybean oil, soy, peanuts, etc., should not take this medication. Additionally, for pregnant patients experiencing severe vomiting, the safety of this medication has not been thoroughly studied, so it should be used cautiously. Individuals taking central nervous system depressants such as alcohol, sleeping pills, or tranquilizers should be careful when taking this medication. The safety of this medication has not been established in patients with liver or kidney dysfunction, so caution is advised. Careful administration is also required for patients with abnormal blood lipid levels or metabolic issues. Drowsiness may occur when taking this medication, so it is advisable to avoid activities requiring concentration such as driving or operating machinery. The risk of drowsiness increases when combined with alcohol or other central nervous system depressants, raising the likelihood of falls or accidents. It is recommended to take this medication on an empty stomach with water, as food may decrease absorption and delay effects. In clinical trials, drowsiness symptoms may appear with this medication, and post-marketing various side effects, including dizziness, headaches, dyspepsia, skin rashes, and urination difficulties, have been reported. Particularly when combined with alcohol or central nervous system depressants, the risk of falls or accidents may increase. No risk of congenital malformations has been reported during pregnancy; however, some side effects were observed in animal studies at high doses. While breastfeeding, this medication may be excreted into breast milk, potentially causing sedative effects or hypersensitivity reactions in the infant, so it is advisable to discontinue breastfeeding. Safety and efficacy have not been established for children under 18 years old, and serious side effects and cases of death have been reported with overdose, necessitating special caution. When taking this medication, bear in mind that some drug tests may produce false results in urinalysis. In cases of overdose, symptoms such as vomiting, drowsiness, dizziness, mental confusion, and increased heart rate may occur, requiring prompt treatment such as gastric lavage or activated charcoal. For storage, keep this medication in a tightly closed container to protect it from air and moisture. The suitable storage temperature is room temperature between 15 to 30 degrees Celsius. Avoid excessively hot or cold places for safe storage.
