Instill (apply) 1 drop 3 times daily. Adjust the dose as appropriate according to symptoms.
This medication should not be used by patients with hypersensitivity to quinolone antibiotics or allergies to this medication. Serious shock symptoms such as nausea, limb coldness, and difficulty breathing may rarely occur during use, so if such symptoms appear, use should be discontinued immediately, and appropriate treatment should be received. Additionally, hypersensitivity reactions such as cardiovascular collapse, loss of consciousness, swelling of the face or neck, rash, and itching may occur, thus usage should be stopped if these symptoms arise. Temporary burning or irritation, pain, redness, itching, tears, and blurred vision may occur in the eyes, and serious skin reactions such as severe keratitis or Stevens-Johnson syndrome may rarely occur, so the medication should be discontinued immediately if such symptoms arise. Hearing impairment or other irritation symptoms may rarely occur, so caution is required. This medication should only be used for the minimum period necessary after confirming the susceptibility of the infective bacteria to prevent the occurrence of resistant bacteria, and long-term use should be avoided as it may lead to excessive growth of fungi or resistant bacteria. In particular, its effectiveness against infections caused by methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) has not been proven; thus, if symptoms do not improve, it should be switched to another antibiotic. Women who are pregnant or may become pregnant should use this medication only when the benefits of treatment outweigh the risks, as its safety has not been established. Those who are breastfeeding should either discontinue breastfeeding or stop using the medication. Safety and efficacy have not been confirmed for infants under one year old, so use should be avoided in this age group.
