Precautions

This medication may irritate the mucosa of the stomach and esophagus, causing problems such as esophagitis or esophageal ulcers. It must be taken with a sufficient amount of water after ingestion, and patients should not lie down for a certain period after taking it. If symptoms such as pain in the esophagus, difficulty swallowing, or heartburn occur, discontinue use immediately and consult a physician. Patients with esophageal discharge disorders or those unable to sit or stand, as well as those allergic to this drug, should not use it. Before giving this medication to patients with low calcium levels, calcium levels must be normalized. While taking this medication, gastrointestinal pain, indigestion, nausea, and diarrhea may occur, so caution is required. Particularly, patients with gastrointestinal diseases or a history of gastric ulcers should use it more cautiously. This medication may cause bone, muscle, and joint pain and, rarely, may be severe; if symptoms are severe, consult healthcare professionals. Long-term use may rarely increase the risk of bone fractures, necessitating regular check-ups. During pregnancy, it may affect the fetus, so women who are pregnant or may become pregnant must consult a physician. Use while nursing should also be cautious, and safety in pediatric patients has not been established. This medication is not recommended for patients with severely impaired kidney function.
