This medicine helps reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease. In particular, it reduces the risks of myocardial infarction, stroke, vascular surgeries, and angina in adults with risk factors for coronary heart disease or diabetes. Additionally, in patients already diagnosed with coronary heart disease, it lowers the risk of not only myocardial infarction and stroke but also hospitalization due to congestive heart failure and angina. Moreover, it is effective in treating hyperlipidemia by reducing total cholesterol, LDL cholesterol, apolipoprotein B levels, and triglycerides while increasing HDL cholesterol levels, contributing to improvements in blood lipids. It assists patients with dyslipidemia who are deficient in dietary therapy and is also used for patients with mixed dyslipidemia and familial hypercholesterolemia. Overall, it is used to protect cardiovascular health and effectively reduce the risk of disease.
