Efficacy & effects

Improvement of blood glucose control in type 2 diabetes

  • Difficulty in blood glucose control in type 2 diabetes patients
View approved original text

This medication is used in conjunction with dietary and exercise therapy to assist patients with type 2 diabetes in controlling their blood glucose levels. It can be used alone, but in cases where blood glucose control is difficult, it can be combined with other antidiabetic agents such as metformin. It is beneficial for those who have not previously received diabetes medication to improve blood glucose levels through either monotherapy or combination therapy. When monotherapy or combination therapy with sulfonylureas, metformin, thiazolidinediones, or insulin is insufficient, adding this medication can enhance blood glucose control. This supports optimal blood glucose control tailored to individual patients through various combinations. Therefore, this medication is useful for improving blood glucose control in patients with type 2 diabetes.
