View approved original text

This medication helps reduce elevated triglyceride levels in patients with endogenous hypertriglyceridemia. It is effective when used alone for patients with hypertriglyceridemia (Type IV) and is used in combination with statin medications to control blood lipid levels in cases of mixed hyperlipidemia (Type IIb), characterized by both hypercholesterolemia and hypertriglyceridemia. Its role in combination therapy is especially important when triglyceride levels are not well controlled. This therapy is used to improve the patient's dyslipidemia.
