Treatment of hypertension and kidney disease (in patients with type 2 diabetes)
This medication is mainly used for the treatment of hypertension and is particularly helpful in preventing and managing kidney disease in patients with type 2 diabetes accompanied by hypertension. Accordingly, it is useful for effectively controlling blood pressure and preventing deterioration of kidney function. It is used to reduce complications related to hypertension and improve patients' health.
This medication is recommended to be taken orally at a dosage of 50 mg once daily at the same time, regardless of meals. If the therapeutic effect is insufficient, the dose may be split into two doses per day or increased to a maximum of 100 mg taken once daily. For patients with hypertension and type 2 diabetes, the usual dose is 50 mg once daily, with adjustment up to 100 mg based on blood pressure, but if there are concerns about excessive blood pressure reduction, the initial dose should be 25 mg.

This drug should not be used by pregnant women, especially during the second and third trimesters, as it may cause serious harm to the fetus. If pregnancy is confirmed, it must be discontinued immediately, and tests may be needed to assess the health status of the fetus. This drug should not be administered to patients with severe liver or kidney impairment, patients with certain genetic disorders, or those with a history of angioedema. Elderly patients or those with high potassium levels, impaired liver function, heart valve disease, or reduced blood volume should use this drug with caution and require regular check-ups. Dizziness or symptoms of low blood pressure may occur while taking this drug, so caution is advised when driving or operating dangerous machinery. Co-administration with potassium-sparing diuretics or potassium supplements can lead to dangerously elevated potassium levels, so such combinations should be avoided. Caution is also needed when taking this drug with nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, as it may reduce blood pressure control and worsen kidney function. This drug can affect liver and kidney function, so patients with liver or kidney disease may require dose adjustments and regular monitoring. Rarely, adverse reactions such as angioedema, hepatitis, muscle pain, skin rash, etc. may occur, so if symptoms arise, immediate consultation with a physician is necessary. In cases of overdose, hypotension and changes in heart rate may occur, and emergency treatment may be required, so caution is advised. It is not safe to use this drug in children under six years and those with severe renal impairment. This drug is not recommended for women who are pregnant or breastfeeding, and if breastfeeding, either avoid taking it or discontinue breastfeeding. When taking this drug, it is important to avoid taking potassium supplements or salt substitutes containing potassium without consulting a physician. This drug must be stored out of reach of children and transferring it to another container should be avoided to prevent quality degradation or accidents.
