This medication is used to improve symptoms of heartburn and acid regurgitation due to excess stomach acid.

How to take

Adult dose

For those aged 16 and older, 1 tablet (10mg) can be taken at a time, with a maximum of 2 tablets (20mg) per day.

Precautions

This medication should not be taken by individuals who have an allergy to any of its ingredients or other H2 receptor antagonists. Additionally, since this medication contains lactose, patients who have a genetic issue that prevents them from digesting lactose should also refrain from taking it. Patients who have difficulty swallowing food or experience pain while swallowing, or those with symptoms such as vomiting blood or bloody stools should consult a doctor or pharmacist before taking this medication. If heartburn symptoms persist for more than three months or if dizziness, drowsiness, or cold sweats occur, consultation with a healthcare professional is also necessary. Individuals with chest or shoulder pain and difficulty breathing, or who frequently experience chest pain should consult a healthcare professional prior to use. If unexpected weight loss, nausea, vomiting, or stomach pain occurs, immediate consultation with a healthcare professional is required. Patients taking non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), those with a history of drug allergies, and individuals with kidney, heart, or liver issues, elderly patients, or pregnant or breastfeeding women should consult with a healthcare professional before taking this medication. Moreover, if taken together with certain antifungal agents or chemotherapy drugs, the effectiveness of the medication may be diminished, so this should be communicated. If symptoms do not improve or worsen during treatment, the patient should stop taking the medication and consult a doctor or pharmacist immediately. This medication should not be taken for more than 14 days at a time, as various side effects, such as allergic reactions, skin rashes, liver function abnormalities, muscle pain, heart rhythm abnormalities, neurological symptoms, gastrointestinal issues, kidney abnormalities, and respiratory problems may occur; if any unusual symptoms arise, use should be stopped and a healthcare professional consulted. This medication can mask symptoms of stomach cancer and should only be used temporarily for symptom relief, and it should not be taken with alcoholic beverages. If there are any changes in health status after taking this medication, it is essential to consult a doctor or pharmacist. Patients undergoing hemodialysis should be cautious as taking this medication with phosphate binders may reduce its effectiveness. Finally, this medication should be kept out of reach of children and stored tightly in its original container.
