Precautions

This medication may affect liver function, leading to possible liver dysfunction or jaundice, and if such symptoms occur, discontinue use immediately and seek medical attention. Additionally, since this medication contains zinc, it may interfere with copper absorption, which could result in copper deficiency. Caution is needed as patients with poor nutritional status may experience anemia or decreased blood cell counts. Hypersensitivity reactions such as rash, itching, and urticaria may occur; if such symptoms develop, discontinue the medication and receive appropriate treatment. During treatment with this medication, gastrointestinal symptoms such as nausea, dyspepsia, constipation, vomiting, heartburn, and diarrhea may occur. Furthermore, when taken with penicillamine or levothyroxine sodium, the efficacy of these drugs may diminish, so it is advisable to space out the administration of these medications. Women who are pregnant or may become pregnant should carefully weigh the benefits and risks of using this medication, and those who are breastfeeding are advised to avoid nursing as the drug may pass into breast milk. Safety in pediatric patients has not been adequately established, so it is not recommended for use in children. Elderly patients may have reduced gastrointestinal function, so the dosage should be reduced, and their conditions should be closely monitored during treatment.
