Precautions

This medication should not be used by women who are allergic to specific ingredients, pregnant, or nursing. Additionally, it should not be administered to patients with a genetic lactose intolerance. Patients with heart disease or specific cardiac conduction disorders should use this medication with special caution, as bradycardia or arrhythmias may occur. Patients taking non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs or with a history of peptic ulcers should be careful, as this medication can stimulate gastric acid secretion and worsen symptoms. Caution is advised for patients with a history of asthma or obstructive lung disease, as symptoms may worsen due to bronchoconstriction and increased mucus secretion. Patients with extrapyramidal disorders such as Parkinson's disease may also need to exercise caution due to potential exacerbation of symptoms from cholinergic effects of this medication. This medication contains the pigment Yellow No. 5, and caution is needed for those with allergies or hypersensitivity to this component. This medication may affect the heart, so if symptoms such as fainting, bradycardia, heart block, or myocardial infarction occur, usage should be stopped immediately and a doctor should be consulted. Gastrointestinal issues such as peptic ulcers, gastrointestinal bleeding, liver dysfunction, brain-related abnormalities, and extrapyramidal symptoms may occur, so careful monitoring for abnormal symptoms is necessary. Various adverse reactions such as hallucinations, anxiety, insomnia, drowsiness, dizziness, palpitations, rash, muscle pain, etc., may manifest during administration, so conditions should be carefully observed. This medication is used to treat Alzheimer's type dementia; if there is no therapeutic effect or severe side effects, discontinuation of treatment should be considered. Caution is necessary when driving or operating machinery as dizziness or fatigue may occur. There may be interactions with other drugs, especially when taken with heart medications, antibiotics, antidepressants, or antipsychotics, so it is advised to consult a specialist. Pregnant or nursing women are advised not to use this medication, but if absolutely necessary, it should be done under a doctor's guidance. Safety for pediatric patients has not been established, so it should not be used. In case of overdose, symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, bradycardia, and respiratory depression may appear, and immediate emergency treatment should be sought, with atropine being a possible antidote. This medication should be kept out of reach of children and should not be transferred to another container.
