Polac Tablet (Polaprazinc)

Adult dose

The usual adult dose is 75mg (1 tablet) of polaprezinc per dose, administered orally twice daily after breakfast and before bedtime.

This medication may affect liver function, so if liver function test results worsen or symptoms of jaundice appear, discontinue use immediately and visit a hospital. This medication contains zinc, which may interfere with copper absorption, potentially leading to anemia or reduced blood cell counts due to copper deficiency. Appropriate treatment should be sought if such symptoms occur. Rarely, allergic reactions such as skin rash, itching, or hives may occur; if these symptoms develop, discontinue use and consult a physician. Gastrointestinal symptoms such as nausea, dyspepsia, constipation, abdominal bloating, vomiting, heartburn, and diarrhea may commonly occur after taking this medication. During treatment, care should be taken not to take this medication concurrently with drugs such as penicillamine or levothyroxine sodium, and dosing times should be adjusted or a physician consulted. Women who are pregnant or may become pregnant should consult a physician before taking this medication, and breastfeeding should be avoided while on this medication. Safety has not been established in children, so use in this population is discouraged. Elderly patients may experience decreased digestive function, so dosage should be reduced, and their condition should be closely monitored during use. This medication should be stored out of the reach of children and should not be transferred to other containers to maintain quality.
