This medication should not be used in specific patients. It should not be taken by individuals who have had allergies or hypersensitivity reactions to this drug or similar types of α-blockers. Additionally, children under the age of 12 should not use this medication. This drug contains lactose, so patients with a genetic condition that impairs lactose digestion should not take it. Patients with severe liver or kidney function impairment, and those with certain conditions such as orthostatic hypotension, heart disease, cerebrovascular disease, or diabetes should use caution when taking this medication. Taking this drug can result in side effects ranging from mild dizziness to severe fainting. Particularly, the risk of dizziness and fainting is higher when starting the medication or suddenly increasing the dose. If fainting occurs, the patient should be laid down and monitored for necessary treatment, and most of these symptoms will resolve over time. Additionally, various neurological, gastrointestinal, and cardiovascular side effects such as dizziness, headache, drowsiness, dyspepsia, edema, rash, and others may occur. Blood pressure may drop suddenly while taking this medication, so especially when starting or changing the dose, risky behaviors such as operating machinery or driving should be avoided. Dizziness or fainting may occur when rising from a lying position, so patients should be careful to get up slowly. While this drug is used to alleviate urination disorders caused by prostatic hyperplasia, symptoms may resemble those of prostate cancer, so it is essential to check for prostate cancer before treatment. Patients scheduled for cataract surgery should inform their doctor about taking this medication, as complications may arise with pupil dilation during the procedure, potentially altering the surgical method. When taking this drug with other medications, caution is necessary as some antihypertensives may interact and enhance the blood pressure-lowering effect. Women who are pregnant or have the potential for pregnancy should carefully weigh the risks and benefits of taking this medication, and nursing mothers should avoid the medication if possible or discontinue breastfeeding. Safety and efficacy for children have not been established, so use is not recommended. Elderly patients should start at a lower dose to prevent excessively low blood pressure and monitor their condition closely. In case of overdose, blood pressure may drop dramatically, requiring immediate appropriate treatment, and dialysis may not effectively remove the drug. This medication should be stored out of the reach of children, and transferring it to another container should be avoided due to the risk of accidents and quality degradation.
