Relief of inflammation and pain such as rheumatoid arthritis and osteoarthritis
This medication is effectively used for rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis (degenerative joint disease), ankylosing spondylitis, tendinitis (tendon inflammation), acute gout, and dysmenorrhea. It can also be prescribed for pain and inflammation from conditions such as bursitis, muscle and ligament injuries, sprains, contusions, trauma, back pain, postoperative pain, migraine, and post-extraction pain. This medication helps improve patients' daily lives by alleviating inflammation and pain. Therefore, it is used to improve the symptoms of rheumatoid arthritis and various joint and muscle-related diseases.
1. Rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, ankylosing spondylitis: Take 250-500mg of naproxen orally, twice a day (every 12 hours). 2. Acute gout: Administer a loading dose of 750mg orally, and take 250mg orally every 8 hours until the attack resolves. 3. This is because this medication can cause gastrointestinal bleeding. This medication may increase the risk of cardiovascular diseases. In particular, it can cause serious thrombotic reactions like myocardial infarction or stroke; thus, individuals with cardiovascular diseases or risk factors should exercise caution. Patients and doctors should carefully observe for the emergence of cardiovascular symptoms and take immediate action if symptoms occur. This medication could increase the risk of serious gastrointestinal adverse reactions such as gastrointestinal bleeding, ulcers, and perforation. The elderly are at higher risk, so extra care should be taken during long-term use. If gastrointestinal bleeding symptoms are suspected during treatment, immediate medical attention should be sought, and the medication should be discontinued if necessary. Patients with a history of peptic ulcers, severe blood disorders, severe liver, heart, or kidney impairments, hypertension, or allergies to this medication or non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs like aspirin should not take this medication. Patients with a history of peptic ulcers, blood disorders, bleeding tendencies, liver and kidney impairment, cardiac dysfunction, hypertension, allergy history, bronchial asthma, autoimmune diseases, the elderly, etc., should be particularly prudent when taking this medication. Rarely, side effects such as allergic reactions, gastrointestinal bleeding, liver dysfunction, kidney impairment, neurological abnormalities, skin rashes may occur; if any unusual symptoms are observed, the medication should be discontinued immediately and consulting a doctor is advised. This medication should be used at the minimal effective dose for the shortest duration and should regularly undergo blood tests and liver and kidney function tests to check for anomalies. This medication may interact with other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, certain anticonvulsants, blood pressure medications, diuretics, anticoagulants, etc.; thus, it is essential to inform healthcare providers about any concurrent medications. This medication should not be taken in late pregnancy and should be used carefully during pregnancy after consultation with a doctor. This medication can be secreted into breast milk and may affect the newborn, so breastfeeding individuals are advised not to take it. Children under 2 years of age should ideally not take this medication as safety has not been established, and the elderly should start with a small dose and use it cautiously due to a higher risk of side effects. In cases of overdose, symptoms may include drowsiness, indigestion, nausea, and vomiting, requiring immediate medical treatment.
